Hand pieced and hand quilted with straight edges and made from high quality solid white cotton fabric, with a slim batting and all white stitching. Same design on both sides.
Traditionally, quilts were made for or by the bride for her dowry; often a gift from friends and family for the bride-to-be, a celebratory warm and hand made gift
The making of quilts was an important social custom and each quilt tells a story and reflects community, artistry and resourcefulness.
In good vintage condition, as found; one or two small faint imperfections, commensurate with age | no odour, no stains tor rips that I can see. This quilt has been WASHED!
